J2E has expertise in the design of AC and DC motor controls for a variety of applications. Working with several different motor types in the past means help with the motor selection process during your development can be provided. Some motors include: Brush DC, Universal, Asynchronous (Induction), Synchronous, BLDC, Switched Reluctance, Linear, and Stepper motors.

STM8S207K6T6C - A low cost 1 HP AC universal controller was created for the food processing market. The controller features PID control and tachometer feedback.

Trinamic TMC428-I Stepper Control & TMC426A Stepper Driver - Provided the backbone to produce a quad output motor controller board for motion control applications.

PIC18F6722 - Used to produce a 90V brush DC motor controller for the food processing market, featuring a PID control and back-EMF feedback.

Photonic Sensors

J2E has positioned itself within the photonics market via a partnership with Point Source, Inc. to produce a variety of photonics sensor devices. The products include a broad variety of commercially available sensors from manufacturers such as TAOS, Avago, Hamamatsu, and Nichia.

Example Photonic Experience

Nichia UV LEDs & Hamamatsu Light Modulation Photo ICs - This product provided capabilities of reading quadrature encoded information off of playing cards for the gaming industry.

TSL238T - This light to frequency converter partnered with the ARM7 produced a turbidity sensor for water treatment facilities.

Altera Cyclone III FPGA - Produced a hybrid (Analog/Digital) amplifier for photonic moisture sensor devices.

Avago ADNS-9500 - Used to affectively detect paper velocity for industrial applications.

RF Design

Wireless connectivity is achieved using IEEE 802.15.4-2003 (ZigBee) and Bluetooth solutions for the industrial and smart energy markets.

Battery Powered Design

J2E provides NiMH and Lithium battery powered solutions for the commercial and industrial markets including on-board charging circuits.

LT4100EG Smart Charging IC - Utilized to produce an eight channel universal smart laptop battery charger for the commercial market.

PIC16F690 - This IC provided the foundation for a single cell NiMH charged/battery tester for the commercial market.

Power Supply Design

Through design experience with a wide variety of off-line and DC/DC converters for commercial and industrial markets J2E has the experience needed for your next power supply project. Many of the circuits are regularly used in our own OEM solutions.

Power Integrations TOP254YN - This product was used to produce a universal input off-line power converter capable of providing 24V@500mA.

Linear Technology LTM4601 - Used in a master/slave configuration to produce a +12V input, +0.95V output @ 20A DC/DC converter for powering 40nm FPGAs.

Microdisplay Design

Using Kopin Corporation and Emagin Microsdisplays J2E can offer near to eye display solutions. These displays can be found in OEM IR cameras used by search and rescue teams, police, and armed forces to detect heat signatures of victims or the enemy.
